ACCOUNT MANAGER

Purpose of Job

The Account Manager is responsible for managing key agency accounts from strategy through to implementation. This role requires strong client relationship management, campaign oversight, and internal collaboration to ensure successful delivery of projects and achievement of client objectives.

Major Accountabilities

1. Strategy & Planning

  • Manage key agency accounts from strategy through to implementation
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Develop campaign plans, strategies, and implementation calendars
  • Coordinate and manage all account deliverables
  • Compile and present client and campaign reports
  • Maintain a clear understanding of through-the-line agency solutions and how to apply them to meet client objectives

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Identify new business opportunities within existing client accounts
  • Manage financial coordination, including quotes, billing, and liaising with admin/finance teams
  • Assist with payment follow-ups where necessary
  • Oversee paid media spend
  • Maintain a holistic view of client accounts to understand how initiatives impact overall goals
  • Ensure clients receive optimal results and that resources are effectively allocated for profitable project delivery

3. Campaign Management & Implementation

  • Brief creative and digital teams on campaigns
  • Lead creative reviews and provide direction
  • Oversee social media community management
  • Manage and implement campaigns across all agency services
  • Proactively identify new campaign ideas, concepts, industry trends, and opportunities
  • Manage timelines, deadlines, and deliverables (internally and externally)

4. Collaboration

  • Keep your direct line manager informed on project status and progress
  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership in executing deliverables
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships within the team

Ideal Background

Education:

  • Matric
  • Tertiary related qualification completed advantageous

Languages:

  • English with one other South African language

Soft Skills/Behaviours:

  • Spirited, adaptable, friendly and diligent
  • Happy to solve coding problems on the fly, using whatever resources are available to you
  • Enthusiastic about creative and digital solutions, always curious to learn and share new ideas
  • Passionate about development life and maintaining a healthy agency culture
  • Both diplomatic and persuasive in equal measures
